The Sales Process: Preparation

If you’ve been following along with the sales training series, we left off two weeks ago discussing methods to find new prospects. Now, we are going to take it a step further and discuss how to approach these prospects. We do this by following what we call The Sales Process.

The Sales Process can be applied to any business, product or service. Over the next several weeks we are going to discuss each step of the process and develop/refine our skills along the way by taking action. Action is by far the best way to grow on both a personal and business level. Remember, it’s okay to stumble and fumble as it’s part of the three phases in sales and the path to get to “natural”.

So let’s dive in!

Step 1: Always be prepared
You cannot be prepared unless you practice. Unless you try.

This starts with developing a basic understanding of your business and your product offerings. The second part of this is developing your concise 30-60 second New Earth story and lastly, taking action. Yes, it’s good to practice in the mirror a couple of times. However, the best strides are made in the field.

Your story is unique and it’s powerful! In some instances, you will want to share your product story and in others you will want to share your business story.

How exactly do you go about developing your story? Simply fill in the blanks…

I have been with New Earth for ___[Insert Duration]____. Since I’ve added ___[Insert Product]______ to my routine, I __[Insert Affirmation]__ the results I’m getting.
