Keep Your Focus

The weather is heating up, the sun is shining more, and the unofficial start of summer is only a week away! With the weather being nicer and vacations right around the corner, it can be difficult to stay focused on your business. Instead of getting distracted by all the fun and letting your business goals fall to the bottom of your list of priorities, make this summer work in your favor by finding ways to keep your focus while still enjoying those backyard barbecues and beach vacations. Here are some tips to help you out. 

1. Keep Your Energy Up

Between working your business, planning trips, and attending events, there’s no doubt that there is always a lot to do during the summer, which means you’ll need plenty of stamina in order to keep up. Budget your day wisely, get plenty of sleep, fuel your body with whole foods, and keep up on your supplement routine to make sure you have enough energy to get your work done and have fun!

2. Shift Your Schedule

Just because work needs to be done doesn’t mean you have to miss out on summer activities. One of the many benefits of building your own business is that you get to set your own schedule. Do you want to have time in the morning to go on a hike before it gets too hot? All you have to do is move your work schedule a little later in the day. Would you rather be done working early in the afternoon so you have time to prepare to host a weeknight barbecue? Consider starting your workday a little earlier to accommodate that. Shifting your usual work schedule just slightly will keep you from feeling like your business is getting in the way of summer fun. 

3. Take Your Work With You

Another great benefit of this type of business is that you get to take your work with you, no matter where you are going! And summer activities like picnics, reunions, and barbecues are fantastic opportunities for social networking. As you are getting ready to attend these events, be prepared to talk about your business, but make sure you keep it light. Be ready to share your New Earth story and the benefits of the products and business when the opportunity presents itself. But remember not to be pushy—prospecting is about building relationships, and the best way to do that is to do more listening than selling. You never know what event you’ll meet your next customer or team member at. 

4. Allow Yourself to Relax
Sometimes, the best way to keep yourself focused on your business goals is to take time to step away from them. With that, give yourself room to relax this summer. While you can always take your work with you on your next vacation, you definitely don’t have to. In fact, taking time to relax and fully step away from your work will allow your brain to rest and reset, allowing you to come back with fresh eyes and more motivation. 

As we prepare to kick off summer, remind yourself that it is possible to grow your business while still enjoying all that the upcoming months have to offer. All you have to do is stay focused.
